Jazz St. Louis is a favorite hot-spot but even a chilly weekend at home can warm up with cool jazz. Every Friday and Saturday evening, 8 p.m., The Next Set: Live from Jazz St. Louis brings live, improvisational jazz from the Ferring Jazz Bistro stage directly to you via KWMU-FM (90.7), or by streaming St. Louis Public Radio. St. Louis Symphony Orchestra celebrates the music of David Bowie, February 7, with Blackstar Symphony, music from the star’s final album. On February 22, SLSO covers all the bases in Double Play with Adam Wainwright. The former Cardinal All-Star pitcher-turned-musician performs songs from his album, Hey Y’All.

Through February 28, see Ancient Rings, an exhibition of glass vessels by kiln artist Jim Scheller at Third Degree Gallery. Up and coming French guitarist Raphael Feuillatre performs February 11, 7:30 p.m., Salem United Methodist Church, 1200 S. Lindbergh. Hosted by St. Louis Classical Guitar, Feuillatre has been hailed worldwide as “the new face of classical guitar.” The guitar chords continue February 15 when guitarist, singer and composer Walter Parks performs at Schlafly Tap Room, 2100 Locust, in For the Love of the Guitar. Seeds: Containers of a World to Come opens February 21 at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, on Washington U’s campus.
